A central base for an adventure week in North Wales
North Wales packs more adventure into one region than almost anywhere in Europe, and the cottages sit roughly in the middle of it.
Adventure in North Wales
Within about an hour of the cottages you have the fastest zip line in the world, world-renowned white water, an inland surf lagoon, underground mine adventures and the mountains themselves. Staying centrally near Corwen means you can do a different thing each day without long drives, and come back to genuine quiet.

Within reach
Zip World Fforest near Betws-y-Coed, with its forest coaster, is around thirty minutes. Zip World Llechwedd and Titan at Blaenau Ffestiniog is around forty-five minutes, and Zip World Penrhyn Quarry near Bethesda, home to the fastest zip line in the world, is around fifty.
The National White Water Centre on the River Tryweryn near Bala is around forty minutes, with Llyn Tegid alongside it for sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding.
Adventure Parc Snowdonia’s inland surf lagoon at Dolgarrog and Go Below’s underground trips near Betws-y-Coed are both around forty minutes or under.
There is superb walking and climbing across the Snowdonia, Berwyn and Clwydian ranges, and five mountain biking trail centres within reach.
From the door
For an easy day you do not have to go far. The Alwen Trail and the Clocaenog Forest are around ten to fifteen minutes away for walking and family riding, and Llyn Brenig has watersports and fishing on the same doorstep.

Long-distance routes
The Dee Valley Way runs about fifteen miles from Corwen to Llangollen, the North Berwyn Way crosses the hills to the south, and the 122-mile Clwydian Way passes through Corwen itself. Both cottages have a log burner and a proper kitchen, so a wet day on the hill ends somewhere warm and quiet.
